All state & local bid sites
Sites marked auto are read automatically — their bids are in the list above. For sites marked by hand, pick a keyword and click Open: the keyword is copied so you can paste it (Ctrl+V / ⌘V) into the site's search box. Google searches that site for the keyword instead.
What the Federal tab searches
Every few hours the site pulls the last 90 days of postings from SAM.gov (the official federal bid site) under the industry codes that match our services, then keeps only the ones:
- still open (not past due, not already awarded), and
- where the work is performed within 100 miles of one of our four offices.
Each bid is tagged with the MM service it sounds like, based on its title. Bids with no tag came in under one of our industry codes but the title didn't name a specific service — worth a quick glance.

How the fit score works
Every bid on the Federal and State & local tabs gets a 1–10 score for how well it fits MM. Bids that Claude has reviewed in the Mon/Wed/Fri search carry Claude's score and a one-line reason (marked reviewed). Newer bids get a quick automatic score from their title until the next search: direct matches like cranes, hoists, fall protection, hangar or overhead doors, conveyors and millwright work score high; general words like "mechanical" or "maintenance" score in the middle; things like HVAC, janitorial or paving score low.
Early notices vs. open bids
Open bids are solicitations you can respond to now. Early notices (sources sought, pre-solicitations, special notices) are agencies testing the market — a good chance to get on their radar before the bid drops.
What it doesn't catch
- Bids with no location at all. When a bid lists no work site, we use the buying office's location instead and mark it "(buying office)".
- State and local sites that load their bid lists with an app (marked "by hand" on the State & local tab). The scheduled search still looks for those by web search, and the other sites are read automatically.
